Experimentation with different design tools is leading British calligrapher Tim Donaldson’s forte. Flight, named for its free-flowing lines that convey a freedom of movement like birds on the wing, was originally rendered in pencil using a quick sketching technique.
The stem junctions were then carefully thickened to produce a futuristic style with an obvious calligraphic pedigree throughout its elegant letterforms. The capitals are designed for initialling purposes only.
